Siren 2007, and stuff
Heavens to Betsy, a lot of bands played this last weekend. I had me some times and took me some pictures, so please see below for a delightful jaunt through Musical Funville.
The Black Lips epitomized nerdy rock Saturday at the Siren Festival, and though sweatily, we enjoyed them.

Then we waited patiently until We Are Scientists came on, and while I do not believe that they are in fact scientists (that would be cool!), they are still a good band.

Next I made a dash for the other stage. After stopping for a comically tall rum beverage, I luckily caught the end of Matt & Kim in all their energetic cuteness.

Lastly I saw Voxtrot do their thing. I think that by this point I might have suffered a mild bout of heatstroke, but I don’t like to complain.

Also entertaining was my hideously warped Sonic the Hedgehog ice-cream, whose insanely roving eyes asked “Liz, why are you eating me?” and Laura’s visit to the Haunted House in all its corpsy splendor.

Sunday took us to the McCarren Park pool, where Oxford Collapse kept adding members, Annuals were pretty effing good, and Band of Horses again proved to not be what their name suggested (through musically all was well).

Band of Horses

In conclusion, sometimes it’s worth it to go stand in the sun all day.
