Band, Boats, and Beer

The South Street Seaport is officially my favorite place to enjoy a free rock concert event. You’ve got the joy of being outdoors at evenin’ time, the magnificent downtown skyline that lights up as the event progresses, and the view of the sea with its gently rocking sailboats and the Brooklyn Bridge in the distance. And, they have ridiculously cheap and giant beers.Last night marked the end of this season’s shows, but it couldn’ have been lovelier with the cool breeze a blowin’ and the fine musical offerings of Deerhunter and Battles. Both gave excellent performances, especially Battles, who shook the crowd with their beats and enthusiasm.
