Pop culture with a hangover

CMJ Day 1

Bon Iver blew minds with his angelic charm,
Those expecting a bore did have cause for alarm.
A witty young man with a copper guitar,
I’d not leave even to get a drink from the bar.

The Shaky Hands they did indeed flail about,
Bringing each of us our inner hippies right out.
They exuded the feeling that Portland is rad,
And the guy on the cowbell was rockin’ like mad.

Most Serene Republic sure was a huge band,
Though the singer sang words I could not understand.
He thrashed around madly and played the trombone,
A fine show by all that few there could bemoan.

Our pals Dean & Britta do the duo thing well,
When Britta let loose, boy she sounded real swell.
Overall super-mellow so we all gently swayed,
They seemed rather bored but still awesomely played.

The Rosebuds awoke us with pop, fun, and jitter,
In sweet homemade t-shirts that dazzled with glitter.
During choruses simple we all sang along,
All in all ‘twas a night of performances strong.
